Mulch Film: Benefits and Uses
Mulching is a horticultural technique consisting of covering the ground with a blackout element such as gravel, slate or bark, which allows:
* avoid evaporation of the irrigation water (it is kept in the ground)
* limit the emergence of any weed seeds
* prevent the soil from becoming too wet after heavy rains, which may cause root rot, tamping and / or soil beating
The use of a mulching film optimizes the development of plants. This film is usually made from PE plastic material, so requires pickup at the end of the season.
